Python

Okay, so I tried something new and different with these jeans. I was drawn to the pleats and the relaxed look. I thought I would keep the look simple (big suprise) by adding a slouchy white tee and neutral accessories. A bright pink lip color was added to punch up the "mom jean" look.
One of my favorite ways to transition into fall is with shoes. Python is everywhere this season, so I thought I'd start the fall addition with a simple pair of python flats (so comfortable and a fun pop).

a simple transition preview

My summer to fall transition outfit includes a loose top, skinnies, a neutral bag and flats. This is perfect for a chilly summer afternoon and for the fall I could just add a leather jacket and boots. I love adding pops of color to every outfit. This fall I'll be looking for pops of red, hot pink, and canary yellow.

desk preview

I have finished some of the essential decorating in my new apartment. One of the more important areas is my desk. If my desk is organized, I feel organized. Two important things I always make sure are on my desk are fresh flowers and light. Keeping the pictures black and white allows me to add color in stacked books and minimal accessories without feeling too overwhelmed in one space. Here is a little preview of what it's looking like.

silky stripes

A simple Sunday look. The weather is finally cooling off and my jeans are coming out! I am so excited for the layers to come this fall. This look will be the starting canvas for the coming season; flares and stripes! Oh and the glorious shoe collection I can't wait to start. I might need to role into a "shoe-aholic's anonymous" group soon if someone doesn't stop me.

peachy

A new favorite thrift find found its way into my closet the other day. I thought I would try it out with some very simple basics like skinny jeans, wedges and an oversized clutch. It was a perfect day for some downtown strolling and shopping.
On another note, my room is slowly coming together and I will be sharing some pictures with you all soon.

sweet nothings

I painted my bathroom this week a color named "sweet nothings." Brushing on the blush pink paint in my bathroom made me start to think this week about the sweet nothings in life. As cheesy as that sounds I was really forced to look at raw things in life that make me happy; one being my love pictured below...

and mixing colors like navy silk and black together.

Along with the obvious (health, education, friends, family) fresh dark chocolate, new socks, wonderfully scented candles, a crisp cool summer morning and girls nights are some of the first sweet nothings that came to mind.

What do you think of as sweet nothings in your life?

lace

This outfit is full of accessories from markets around the world (something I didn't notice until we started taking pictures.) I love the rich texture found in markets and street fairs; specifically this bag my cousin brought home for me from Italy. Keeping the color pallet more neutral allows me to have more fun with texture and accessories.

office inspiration

Now because I'm still a student, an office is not of necessity. A desk however is! Here is my inspiration for my desk.

a moving day!

So the day has come. Tomorrow is moving day for me which means today is a day of full packing and running errands. So I am going to spare you from the sweaty outfit pictures and share with you a few pictures of inspiration.

I can't wait to show you all my new place!

summer date night

Last week, Ben and I were able to spend the entire day in Sagatuck, MI and finish the day with a little date night commedy show. Laughing together is really one of the best simple medicines. Don't forget to take time to laugh with your friends.

sky diving!

In the beginning of the week my brother and dad went SKY DIVING! Can you believe it? They literally jumped out of a plane!
I was there to watch and bit my finger nails for their safety. Luckily Ben was there to calm me down and distract me. We went out and took some pictures on this beautiful road. Because this was an all day event, I decided to layer for the chance of a change in weather. A t-shirt over a maxi has been one of my favorite unexpected layering tricks this summer. And one can never go wrong with a basic, simple white t-shirt.
