light textures

I love to layer, and unfortunately Michigan summers can be too hot for layers at times. When I can layer in the summer it's important for me to keep it light and mix up the textures. I mixed up a light silk top with a light weight sparkly cardi and for more texture I added these thrifted cut-offs. 

Oh, and one other thing about this outfit, the majority of it was thrifted (with the exception of the necklace) and cost under $20! Can you believe that? I do love a good deal. An outfit can feel more like a success after a good long hunt and bargain.

This is the season of open houses. There are a lot of meet and greets and running to different places. Keeping outfits simple and bringing layers is key for me. This summer has been really hot and really cold so jackets and summer dresses are a MUST. This is just one outfit I put together from pieces I have had over the years and thrifted finds. Denim jackets are a staple to me, and I've had this one for years and I hope to have it for more. It's a great grab 'n go piece that layers well over almost everything. If you don't have one in your closet, I'd advise you to go out now!

Another jumpsuit! I am addicted to them. I wore this one to some open houses and a backyard birthday party. It's so nice to have something you don't need to adjust or fix throughout the night. An easy way to change these up are by adding different tanks underneath, belting it different ways and changing up the accessories.

Just a beautiful day in the field, having a good time and goofing off. A perfect day for a fun and easy outfit. I love the ease of jumpsuits. They are fun, simple and who doesn't like not thinking about an outfit. I have been on the fence about jumpsuits for a while, and I have now officially jumped to a loving relationship with them. This one is a favorite because it has a floral print and I love anything floral.
