new preppy

This is my take on an old school mix of preppy. The pink and green silk skirt drew me in and I built classics on to it. Like I've said before, a denim jacket is a must have for every season. And a white t-shirt can go so far and with just about everything.
I wore this a few days ago to my internship for a meet-and-greet. The silk skirt is made casual by the jean jacket and looks simple with just the white t-shirt alone. I have come to love a basic tee, and this summer you will be seeing a lot more of them!

leather and knit

I bought these shorts a while ago and have been hesitant to wear them. I finally decided to take the risk and pair them with a softer look on top. I like to mix hard and soft, and light and dark together with textures and shapes. Today I spent most of the day waiting in the waiting room for my mom who had a minor surgery so I thought it was a good day for experimenting, it was safe.
I have a few other pairs of shorts that I still need to break out. I love the variety of shapes and fabrics that have been used this season for shorts and other bottoms. It keeps simple outfits interesting; something I love.

all of the above

Movie night! I was just experimenting with some mixing of prints, colors and flowy fabrics. I like to wear relaxed shapes for these warm summer nights. This is my casual alternative to a flowy summer dress.

garden layering

It's officially summer and the heat is a clear sign. It's key to keep your layers light and airy. I love to add different textures and patterns in my layers and accessorize with minimal light pieces. Cropped denim adds a touch of shape to the layered look and brings the outfit from day to night.
I wore this outfit to a garden concert this weekend. It was nice to kick off my shoes and hang out with more good people.

weekend wedding

As cheesy as it sounds, this weekend I had the opportunity to really understand life's simple pleasures; a whole weekend with love, amazing friends, and all around good people. The wedding this weekend was a beautiful intimate backyard wedding that shed light on the raw meaning of love and God's purpose for the union between two people. I had the wonderful opportunity to be apart of such a blessing and continued fun throughout the rest of the weekend. When breaking it all down there is no other to credit than the pure blessing of God I am so privileged to experience. Here are some glimpses into this weekend.

simple color inspiration

It's now the season for weddings. I am now interning at a wonderful event planning boutique, Pearls Events, were I will have many opportunities to wear wedding appropriate dresses! I am so excited! Tori Spelling is one I look to when getting inspiration for wedding wear. Her style is very simple chic and she finds a way to pull off beautiful colors in elegant shapes.
I have a wedding to attend tonight with some wonderful friends. Here are some of my inspirational looks for the wedding tonight, brought to you by Tori Spelling.

I am so excited to put on some fun colors tonight and spend time with wonderful friends!
More importantly, I am excited for the beautiful couple getting married today!
